What Do I Have to Do to Get a Bachelor’s Degree? You will be awarded a bachelor’s degree when you have completed all the courses required by your college or university. Typically you will receive 3 or 4 credits for every class you successfully complete. You need 120 credits to graduate. Full-time students will generally take a minimum of 15 credits per semester, or 30 credits each year. Each semester is about 15 weeks long.
Don’t let the calculation confuse you. Your college advisor will help you select the correct classes to earn your degree. Here’s how a typical full-time student earns credits. Students can often earn additional credits and complete course work early by taking classes during the summer.
