How Much Time Should I Spend Looking for a Job?

Finding a job is like having a job!
If you are in school

  • Look 5 days a week
  • Look 3 hours a day minimum
  • Look during business hours

If you are not in school?

  • Look 5 days a week
  • Look 5 hours a day minimum
  • Look during business hours
  • Plan to be finished before 5 p.m.

Schedule out the time and make an appointment with yourself to look for a job!

Job Search ScheduleListed below are daily job search responsibilities:

  • Locate 5 to 10 job opportunities per day

The more job opportunities you find, the more likely you will be able to find a job!

  • Complete applications

Online or in-person, then follow-up with a MANAGER

  • Research the companies that are hiring or you would be interested in working for
    Remember: Appearance & Attitude count!
  • Submit resumes and cover letters to employers
  • Talk to MANAGERS about the job opportunities you have found
